Ramalakshmanan Muthuchamy, professionally known as Soori, is an actor and comedian who mainly appears in Tamil films. He made his acting debut with an Uncredited role in the 1998 Tamil movie Maru Malarchi, starring Mammootty. He acted in several uncredited roles before his breakthrough in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009), where he earned the moniker Parotta Soori.

He is known for his roles in Poraali (2011), Sundarapandian (2012), Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013), Jilla (2014), Rajini Murugan (2016), Idhu Namma Aalu (2016), Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran (2016), Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae (2017), Namma Veettu Pillai (2019), and Sangathamizhan (2019). After a decade as a comedian, his dramatic turn as a lead actor in Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 1 (2023) received critical acclaim. Then he appeared in the lead role in Garudan (2024), Kottukkaali (2024), and Viduthalai Part 2 (2024).

He was born on 27 August 1977 (age 48 years) in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is married and has a son, Sarvan, and a daughter, Vennila.
