Shaji John, professionally known by his stage name Kalabhavan Shajohn, is an Indian actor and director who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry. He also appeared in the Tamil film. He began his career as a mimicry artist at Kalabhavan, Kochi. He made his film acting debut with the Malayalam movie My Dear Karadi in 1999. He received a breakthrough in his career with Drishyam (2013), in which he played a negative role, and he won the Kerala State Film Awards for Special Mention, SIIMA for Best Actor in a Negative Role, Vanitha Film Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role, and Asianet Film Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Kalabhavan Shajohn debuted in Tamil with the movie 2.0 in 2018, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam Brother’s Day in 2019, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Aishwarya Lekshmi. He made his TV series debut with the Malayalam series Nagendran’s Honeymoons in 2024 on Hotstar. He has starred in more than 150 Malayalam films.

He was born on 30 November 1977 (age 48 years) to E. J. John, a retired ASI, and Rejina, a retired nurse in Kottayam, Kerala, India. He has a brother, Shibu John, who is also a mimicry artist and radio RJ in Voice of Kerala. He studied at St. Mary’s College, Manarcaud. He married Dini on 28 October 2004. The couple has a daughter, Hanna, and a son, Yohan.
