Prithviraj Sukumaran is an Indian actor, director, producer, and playback singer primarily working in Malayalam films and a few Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu movies. He made his acting debut with the Malayalam movie Nandanam in 2002. His debut movie in Tamil was in 2005 with the movie Kana Kandaen. He made his Telugu movie debut with the movie Police Police in 2010. He came to the Hindi film industry in 2012 with the movie Aiyyaa, co-starring Rani Mukerji. With the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year, Classmates (2006), he made a name for himself as a notable actor in the language. He debuted playback singing in the Malayalam movie Puthiya Mukham in 2009. He got several awards, including a National Film Award, three Kerala State Film Awards, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and a South Filmfare Award. He began working with August Cinema in 2010, where he went on to co-produce and star in the 2011 films Indian Rupee and Urumi. He made his directorial debut with Lucifer (2019).

He was born on 16 October 1982 (age 43 years) to the actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He has a brother, Indrajith Sukumaran, who is an actor. He studied at many schools, and are Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School in T. Nagar, Chennai, St. Joseph’s Boys School, Coonoor, NSS Public School, Perunthanni, St. Mary’s Residential Central School, Poojappura, Sainik School, Kazhakootam, and Bhavan’s Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor. He did his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at the University of Tasmania in Australia. He married BBC India reporter Supriya Menon on 25 April 2011 in a private ceremony held in Palakkad. They have a daughter, Alankrita, born in 2014.
