Nishanth Balakrishnan, known professionally as Nishanth Sagar, is an Indian actor who mainly works in the Malayalam film industry and in a few Tamil films. He made his acting debut with the Malayalam movie Devadasi in 1999. He has performed in over 50 films as a hero, co-star, and antagonist. He debuted in Tamil with the 2003 film Lesa Lesa. He is well known for his roles in Phantom (2002) as Josekutty and in Thilakkam (2003) as Gopi.

He was born on 08 June 1980 (age 45 years) to P. G. Balakrishnan and P. K. Pushpa in Thodupuzha, Idukki, Kerala, India. He studied at St.Mary’s HSS, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. He did his higher studies at Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College. He married Vrinda, and they have two children.
