Raveena Tandon is an Indian actress who primarily works in the Hindi film industry. She also appeared in a few films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Bengali languages. She is the daughter of director Ravi Tandon. She made her film acting debut with the 1991 Hindi movie Patthar Ke Phool, starring Salman Khan, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She debuted in Telugu with the movie Ratha Saradhi in 1993. She made her Tamil film debut with the movie Sadhu in 1994, starring Arjun.

Raveena Tandon established herself by playing the leading lady in the commercially successful action films Dilwale (1994), Mohra (1994), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), and Ziddi (1997). She debuted in Kannada with the movie Upendra in 1999, starring Upendra. Laboratory (2010) was her Bengali movie debut.

Raveena Tandon also appeared in the movies Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998), Dulhe Raja (1998), Ghulam-E-Mustafa (1997), Anari No.1 (1999), Shool (1999), Daman (2001), Aks (2001), Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004), Dobara (2004), Sandwich (2006), Maatr (2017), K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), Patna Shuklla (2024), and Ghudchadi (2024). She also appeared in the TV series Aranyak (2021) and Karmma Calling (2024). She is also an environmentalist and has worked with PETA since 2002. In 2023, she was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest Indian civilian honour.

She was born on 26 October 1972 (age 53 years) to director Ravi Tandon and Veena Tandon in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She is a niece of character actor Mac Mohan and thus a cousin of Manjari Makijany, his daughter. She has a brother, Rajiv Tandon. She is also a cousin of actress Kiran Rathod. She studied at Jamnabai Narsee School, Juhu, Mumbai. She completed her graduation from Mithibai College, Mumbai.

Raveena Tandon adopted two girls, Pooja and Chhaya, as a single mother in 1995 when they were 11 and 8 years old, respectively. She married Anil Thadani on 22 February 2004. The couple has a daughter, Rasha Thadani, born on 16 March 2005, and a son, Ranbirvardhan Thadani, born in July 2008.
