Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi Pednekar is an Indian actress who works in the Hindi entertainment industry. She is the daughter of former Minister of Maharashtra Satish Pednekar. She made her acting debut with the Hindi movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She starred in the TV series Pyaar Actually in 2019.

She is well known for her roles in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Bala (2019), Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), Aankh (2019), Badhaai Do (2022), Bheed (2023), and Afwaah (2023).

She was born on 18 July 1989 (age 36 years) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father, Satish Pednekar, was Maharashtra’s former MLA and Home and Labour Minister, and her mother, Sumitra Pednekar, worked as an anti-tobacco activist after the death of her husband from oral cancer. She has a younger sister named Samiksha, a lawyer and a model. She studied at Arya Vidya Mandir, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She did her higher studies at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
