Veeramachaneni Jagapathi Chowdary, professionally known as Jagapathi Babu, is an Indian actor who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. He also appeared in a few Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. He is the son of film producer and director V. B. Rajendra Prasad. He made his film acting debut as a child actor with the Telugu movie Manchi Manushulu (1974). As an adult, he made his film acting lead and dual role debut with the Telugu movie Simha Swapnam (1989).

Jagapathi Babu debuted in Tamil with the movie Madrasi (2006), starring Arjun and Vedhika. He debuted in Kannada with the movie Bachchan (2013), starring Sudeepa and Bhavana. He debuted in Malayalam with the movie Pulimurugan (2016), starring Mohanlal, for which he won the SIIMA Awards for Special Jury Award and Asianet Film Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Jagapathi Babu has worked with notable directors like Kodi Ramakrishna, S. V. Krishna Reddy, Ram Gopal Varma, Krishna Vamsi, E. V. V. Satyanarayana, Gunasekhar, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, Siva, A. M. Rathnam, K. Raghavendra Rao, Radha Mohan, Mohan Raja, J. D. Chakravarthy, Boyapati Srinu, Trivikram Srinivas, Vysakh, K. S. Ravikumar, Sukumar, Koratala Siva and Prashanth Neel. He debuted in Hindi with the movie Radhe Shyam (2022), starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde.

He was born on 12 February 1962 (age 64 years) to film producer and director V. B. Rajendra Prasad in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He married Lakshmi. The couple has two daughters.
