Sangita Madhavan Nair

Sangita Madhavan Nair is an Indian actress who has worked in the Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu film industries. She started her career as a child artist in the 1978 Malayalam movie Snehikkan Oru Pennu and acted as a heroine in the Tamil movie Ellame En Rasathan in 1995. She made her Kannada movie debut with the movie Shanti Kranti in 1991. In 1999, she made her Telugu movie debut with the movie Samarasimha Reddy. She is well known for her roles in Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala (1998), for which she won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress and the Cinema Express Award for Best Actress – Malayalam, and Poove Unakkaga (1996).

She was born on 25 July 1976 (age 49 years) to Madhavan Nair and Padma in Kottakkal, Malappuram, Kerala, India, and settled in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She studied at Sri Gujarati Vid Matriculation School, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She married cinematographer S. Saravanan in 2000. The couple has a daughter, Saai Thejaswathy, born in 2002.
