Laya Gorty is an Indian Kuchipudi dancer and actress who works primarily in Telugu films and a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil films. She made her film acting debut with the Telugu movie Bhadram Koduko in 1992 as a child artist. She made her debut as a lead actress with the Telugu movie Swayamvaram in 1999, for which she won the Nandi Special Jury Award. She debuted in Kannada with the movie Maduve Aagona Baa in 2001. She debuted in Tamil with the movie Sri Bannari Amman in 2002. She debuted in Malayalam with the movie Alice In Wonderland in 2005. She also appeared in the Telugu TV serial Sambavi on ETV.

She was born on 21 October 1981 (age 44 years) to Dr. G. Gopalakrishna and Yashoda G in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. She studied at Nirmala High School, Vijayawada. She completed her Master’s degree in Computer Applications. She married Dr. Sri Ganesh Gorty in 2006. The couple has a daughter, Sloka Gorty, and a son, Vachan Gorty.
