Varun Dhawan is an Indian actor who mainly works in the Hindi entertainment industry. He is the son of director David Dhawan and brother of filmmaker and screenwriter Rohit Dhawan. He is from the Hindi film Family Dhawan. He began his career as an assistant director to Karan Johar in My Name Is Khan in 2010. He made his acting debut with the Hindi movie Student of the Year in 2012. He is well known for his roles in Main Tera Hero (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Dilwale (2015), ABCD 2 (2015), Badlapur (2015), Dishoom (2016), Judwaa 2 (2017), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Sui Dhaaga (2018), October (2018), Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), and Bhediya (2022).

He was born on 24 April 1987 (age 39 years) to film director David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He has a brother, Rohit Dhawan, a filmmaker and screenwriter. He studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mumbai, and H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. He earned his Degree in business studies from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, England. Varun Dhawan wed fashion designer Natasha Dalal, his longtime lover, on January 24, 2021. On June 3, 2024, the couple welcomed their daughter Lara into the world.
