Shahid Kapoor is an Indian actor who mainly works in the Hindi entertainment industry. He is the son of actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem. He made his acting debut with the Hindi movie Dil To Pagal Hai in 1997. He debuted with a leading role in the Hindi movie Ishq Vishk in 2003, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In addition to acting, Shahid Kapoor supports charities, hosts award ceremonies, and has been featured as a talent judge on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded (2015).

He is well known for his roles in Jab We Met (2007), Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), Udta Punjab (2016), Padmaavat (2018), Kabir Singh (2019), and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). He also appeared in the Amazon Prime Video TV series Farzi in 2023.

He was born on 25 February 1981 (age 45 years) to actor Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem in New Delhi, India. Actors Ishaan Khatter, Ruhaan Kapoor, and Sanah Kapur are his siblings. He studied at Gyan Bharati School, New Delhi, and Rajhans Vidyalaya, Mumbai, Maharashtra. He completed his graduation from Mithibai College, Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is married to Mira Rajput. They have two children, Misha and Zain.
