Dileesh Philip, also known as Dileesh Pothan, is an Indian film director, producer, and actor who mainly works in the Malayalam entertainment industry. He began his career as an associate director in the film 9 KK Road (2010). He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram in 2016, starring Fahadh Faasil, for which he won the Best Feature Film in Malayalam Award at the 64th National Film Awards. He also won the Best Director Award at the 64th Filmfare Awards South.

Dileesh Pothan made his acting debut with the Malayalam movie Salt N’ Pepper in 2011. Kumbalangi Nights (2019) was his first produced movie. He is well known for his roles in Vaarikkuzhiyile Kolapathakam (2019), Thottappan (2019), Trance (2020), Malik (2021), Bheeshmaparvam (2022), Prakashan Parakkatte (2022), O.Baby (2023), Abraham Ozler (2024), Golam (2024), and Rifle Club (2024).

He was born on 19 February 1981 (age 45 years) in Kottayam, Kerala, India. He did his schooling at Emmanuel’s Higher Secondary School, Kothanalloor, Kerala. He did his pre-degree from Kuriakose Elias College, Mannanam. He completes his BSc degree at St. Philomena’s College, Mysore. He completed an M.A. in Theatre Arts at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, and an M.Phil. in Theatre Arts from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He married Jimsy in December 2012. They have a daughter and a son.
