Basil Joseph is an Indian director and actor who works in the Malayalam movie industry. He started his film career in 2013 as an assistant director of Vineeth Sreenivasan with the movie Thira. He made his debut feature movie acting with the movie Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu (2013), directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar. His debut movie as a director was Kunjiramayanam in 2015. He also directed Godha (2017) and Minnal Murali (2021). Both critically and commercially, every movie he directed was a big hit. He is well known for her roles in Joji (2021), Jan. E. Man (2021), Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2022), Palthu Janwar (2022), Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham (2023), and Falimy (2023).

He was born on 28 April 1990 (age 36 years) to Joseph Pallippatt, a priest, and Thankamma Joseph in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad, Kerala, India. He studied at St.Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Sultan Bathery, Kerala, and SKMJ Higher Secondary School, Kalpetta, Kerala. He completed his BTech Graduate from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Having been in a relationship for over seven years, he married Elizabeth Samuel on August 17, 2017. They have a daughter named Hope Elizabeth Basil.
