Genelia D’Souza, also known as Genelia Deshmukh, is an Indian film producer and actress who works predominantly in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil films. She also appeared in a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Marathi films. She made her film acting debut with the Hindi movie Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. In the same year, she debuted in Tamil with the movie Boys, starring Siddharth, and in Telugu with the movie Satyam. She debuted in Kannada with the movie Satya in Love in 2008. She debuted in Malayalam with the movie Urumi in 2011, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Arya, Alexx O’Nell, and Nithya Menen.
In Marathi, Genelia Deshmukh debuted with the movie Lai Bhaari in 2014. She also appeared in Masti (2004), Sye (2004), Sachein (2005), Happy (2006), Bommarillu (2006), Dhee (2007), Ready (2008), Santosh Subramaniam (2008), Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008), Katha (2009), Urumi (2011), Force (2011), Velayudham (2011), and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2012).
She was born on 05 August 1987 (age 38 years) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, to Neil D’Souza, who is a senior official with Tata Consultancy Services, and Jeanette D’Souza, who was a managing director of the Pharma Multinational Corporation. She has a younger brother, Nigel D’Souza, who works with the Bombay Stock Exchange. She studied at Apostolic Carmel High School, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She did her Bachelor’s in Management Studies from St. Andrew’s College, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She married actor Riteish Deshmukh on 03 February 2012. The couple’s first son, named Riaan, was born on 25 November 2014. Their second son, Rahyl, was born on 01 June 2016.
