Vani Viswanath is an Indian actress who mainly works in Malayalam and Telugu films, and a few Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. She made her acting debut with the Malayalam movie Mangalya Charthu in 1987. In 1986, she debuted in Tamil with the movie Mannukkul Vairam. She debuted in Telugu with the Movie Chinni Krishnudu in 1988. Parashuram (1989) was her Kannada movie debut. She debuted in Hindi with the movie Zakhmi Sipahi in 1994. In 2000, she won the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress for her role in the Malayalam movie Susanna. She was termed Mollywood’s “Action Queen”. In 2017, she joined the political party Telugu Desam Party.

She was born on 13 May 1971 (age 55 years) to astrologer Vishwanathan and Girija in Ollur, Thrissur, Kerala, India. She studied at St. Raphael’s Convent Girls’ High School, Thrissur, Kerala. She married actor Baburaj in 2002. They have two children, Archa and Adri.
