Shruti Haasan is an Indian singer and actress in the Tamil, Telugu, and Hind Film Industries. She started her acting career as a child artist. She made her acting debut as an adult with the Hindi film Luck in 2009. In 2011, she made her Telugu debut with the movie Anaganaga O Dheerudu and her Tamil debut with the movie 7aum Arivu. She is known for Oh My Friend (2011), Gabbar Singh (2012), Balupu (2013), Yevadu (2014), Race Gurram (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Premam (2016), Krack (2021), and Waltair Veerayya (2023). She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu for Race Gurram.

She was born on 28 January 1986 (age 40 years) to actor Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika Thakur in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She has a younger sister, Akshara Haasan, who is also an actress. She did her schooling at Abacus Montessori School, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Lady Andal School, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Then moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra, to obtain a degree in psychology at St Andrew’s College, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She learn music from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California.
