Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin is a French actress who mainly appears in Hindi films and a few French, English, and Tamil films. She also appears in the Hindi TV series. She first appeared in the Hindi movie Laaga Chunari Mein Daag in 2007 in a minor role. Then, she made her film debut with the Hindi movie Dev.D in 2009, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Kalki Koechlin debuted in French with the movie Un plus une in 2015. She made her TV series debut with the Hindi series Man’s World in 2015. She debuted in English with the movie Mantra in 2016. Kalki Koechlin debuted in Tamil with the movie Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019, starring Ajith Kumar and Shraddha Srinath.

She was born on 10 January 1984 (age 42 years) to French parents, Joël Koechlin and Françoise Armandie, in Pondicherry, India. She did her schooling at Hebron School, Ooty, Tamil Nadu. She studied drama and theatre at Goldsmiths, University of London, England. She married filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in April 2011. The two met while filming her debut film Dev.D. They divorced in 2015. On 30 September 2019, she confirmed her pregnancy with her boyfriend, Guy Hershberg, an Israeli musician. Their daughter, Sappho, was born on 7 February 2020 through water birth.
