G. V. Prakash Kumar is an Indian music composer, playback vocalist, actor, and producer best known for his work in Tamil and a few Telugu movies. His debut movie was Veyil (2006) from S Pictures, and by the early 2010s, he had become well-known in Tamil cinema. In 2015, he made his acting debut with Darling. In his film career, he has received three Filmfare Awards and one National Award.
He was born on 13 June 1987 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father is G. Venkatesh and his mother is playback singer A. R. Reihana, who is the elder sister of music director A. R. Rahman. His younger sister Bhavani Sre is an actress. He did his schooling in Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2013, he wed Saindhavi, a singer who was a classmate of his. In 2020, a daughter was born to the couple.
